It is used when a very stiff product with high tensile and compressive strength (both greater than steel) is required. It has weak shear strength and is not impact resistant. It is best used, when making parts that need to be light weight but are under high stress. It is more expensive than cloth, but replaces several layers of cloth in terms of strength.
