Alumilite Dyes allow users to color any of Alumilite's high quality resins evenly and completely with a reacting dye that will never leach. We carry seven basic colors and three flesh tone colors. Add the dyes to the "A" side by weight up to 5% to achieve the color you desire. Use the flesh tones according to your preference of shade (flesh tones are typically used in Alumilite White for a more natural appearance). Dyes can be used in Clear Alumilite to make a translucent colored casting. *Note that Green translucent dye is not compatible with epoxy chemistry and will shift to a blue color. This is due in part to chemistry, but also shift in hues (yellowing) over time of epoxy, causing changes in color. Opaque colors include white, black, flo red, flo orange, flo yellow, flo green, tan, beige, and dark brown. Some translucency can be achieved by adding an incredibly small amount of these dyes to clear resin. -
Clear Polycarbonate (Often referred to as their brand names such as "Lexan” or “Makrolon") POLYCARBONATE is different from acrylic; polycarbonate is almost unbreakable, if hit it will dent but it will not break. This quality makes it a bit softer and less rigid than acrylic. It is not very UV stable. With the UV stabilizers in a the general purpose grade, In sunlight it has life of 5 to 10 years. Further UV treated versions are available by special order. It is lighter than glass, but will scratch more easily than acrylic or glass.
